Discovered by you within you

I see images tonight on the television of gangs of young men, boys even, in the streets of France smashing cars and windows, charging the police, throwing stones, bottles, sticks, lighting fires. Someone says its urban warfare.
But these kids are not protesting the government’s retirement plan. They are full of rage over the life of exclusion that they are condemned to live. Retirement? These kids don’t have even the slightest job opportunity in sight.
My own days have been filled, meanwhile, with contemplating the first paramita, generosity. I’m seeing that the point of generosity is to let go of constant wanting. Give it away.
In that context, people wanting to « receive » transmission from a teacher are totally missing the fact that transmission is not given to you, as Trungpa says, but is discovered by you within you.
